INSURANCE REPAIR

Insurance claim repairs are a specialty of Aerospace Instrument Support, an OEM-approved supplier for Textron Aviation’s Beechcraft, Cessna and Citation aircraft, and involve all types of piston and turbine aircraft. We are an aircraft owner ourselves and understand the value of time and budget, and therefore, we perform repairs right the first time.

Our Part 145 team of FAA-licensed Airframe & Powerplant technicians and machine shop specialists offers many decades of experience structurally repairing aircraft of all sizes to factory standards.

We are capable of repairing aircraft damage that does not result in a total loss, whether the insurance claim is due to an “occurrence” or “physical damage loss”:

  • Gear-up landings (on or off-airport)

  • Hard landings

  • Airport collisions with hangars and vehicles

  • Bird and wildlife strikes

  • Taxiing collisions

  • Wind, lightning or hail

  • Theft

  • Vandalism

Our repair services and experience cover all types of damage claims:

  • Major structures

  • Flight controls (rebuild)

  • Sheet metal

  • Composites

  • Corrosion

Associated “one-stop” services are also available at our repair location:

  • Maintenance inspections

  • Engine and propeller inspections

  • Engineering support: FAA DAR and DER

  • Interior repair and upgrades

  • Exterior paint

  • Customer offices

Upon notification of a claim by the insurance company, an assigned claims adjuster or the aircraft owner, we will dispatch a member(s) of our repair team to the accident site at no charge, typically in our own Cessna 182, for the purpose of making a first-hand assessment of the damage and its complexity. If any hard-to-find parts will be required we will immediately begin searching for those parts to reduce the aircraft downtime, while preparing a thorough repair proposal. Our commitment is to return the aircraft to service as quickly as possible.

We can also arrange for transport of the aircraft to our repair facility using either our own truck/trailer and specialized rigging gear, a qualified commercial source, or by FAA and insurance-approved ferry flight.

While the aircraft is undergoing repairs, the owner, adjuster and claims manager receive regular communications including written status reports (with timeline) and pictures documenting the repair intended to help reduce the diminution of aircraft value.

If the owner chooses, AIS can also perform maintenance inspections, performance modifications, avionics upgrades, interior refurbishment, and offer new exterior paint, resulting in significant savings in future aircraft downtime and costs.

Supporting the repair facility in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area are regional offices located in Wichita, Kansas and Chattanooga, Tennessee, providing expanded customer service for aircraft owners, assigned adjusters and claims managers throughout the central and southeastern U.S.
